do you take insurance?

I am a majority private-pay therapist. Currently, the only insurances I am allowed to take are AETNA and Medi-CAL. If you are with another insurance company, I’m happy to provide a superbill if needed. A superbill is a detailed invoice that you can send to your insurance provider to request possible out-of-network reimbursement for therapy sessions. Please note that reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on your specific insurance plan.

what Medi-Cal plans do you currently accept?

Currently, I can accept:

  • Beacon Health Options HMO

  • Beacon Health Options Inc

  • Beacon Health Options Inc Medicaid Advantage

  • Beacon Health Options Inc Medicare Advantage

  • LA Care Medi-Cal

  • LA Care Commercial

  • New York State Empire Plan

  • Partnership Health Plan of CA Medicaid

why don’t you take insurance?

I’ve chosen not to work directly with many insurance so I can offer more personalized, flexible, and ethical care. Insurance companies often require a mental health diagnosis, limit the length or frequency of sessions, and influence the type of treatment that’s covered.

By remaining private pay, I’m able to focus fully on you—not on documentation requirements or restrictions set by a third party. This allows us to move at a pace that feels supportive, use integrative approaches like somatic work and parts work, and adjust treatment based on your needs rather than insurance rules.

I also believe therapy should be a space where you don’t have to worry about how your personal information is stored or used. Private pay allows for greater privacy and autonomy in your care.

is therapy confidential?

Your privacy is important, whether you’re a teen, young adult, or parent. For adults and young adults, everything shared in therapy is confidential and protected under HIPAA, unless there’s a safety concern.

For minors, I respect your teen’s voice and experience while also involving parents as needed to support growth. Sessions are generally private, and what your teen shares is kept confidential, unless there’s a safety concern. My goal is to create a safe, grounded space where everyone can feel heard, supported, and respected.

Good Faith Estimate
Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of therapy services if you are paying out of pocket. This estimate outlines anticipated fees based on your individual treatment plan and is provided before services begin. Because therapy is personalized, actual costs may vary over time. You may request an updated estimate at any point. If your actual charges exceed the estimate by $400 or more, you have the right to dispute the bill.
